About Us
Concerts Don’t Cost The Earth was founded by Holly Cullen-Davies in 2022. Holly is a professional pianist, singer, choir leader, environmental campaigner and curator with a heart for bringing high quality classical music to people in all walks of life.
Combining her passion for music with her commitment to tackling the climate crisis, Holly created the concept with the aim of raising funds for climate organisations, whilst also encouraging people to think more about what can be done, and how.
Our Musicians
Concerts Don’t Cost The Earth is committed to paying musicians for every concert. Their fees come from our sponsors and patrons.
Desmond Neysmith is one of the most sought after cellists of his generation. He plays an 1874 cello made by the Frenchman Charles Boullangier who lived and worked in London. He says "For me, having an antique makes a lot of difference. It's not just the sound - it's knowing the history, knowing it's been played and cherished for so long, and that all you're doing is looking after it on its own journey." Desmond also plays in the orchestra Chineke!
Preetha Narayanan is a highly accomplished violinist who has performed and led creative projects extensively around the world as a soloist, collaborator, and in her own ensembles, FLUX, Quest Ensemble, and Balladeste. Merging Western and Indian Classical training, Preetha is sought after for her distinctive voice and unique sound.
